Thank you!
The Rose Ensemble sends a special thank you out to two St. Paul businesses that are long-time supporters of the organization.
Paul and KaTrina Wentzel of The Wine Thief and The Ale Jail, located at 1787 St. Clair Avenue, have donated wine and beer to Rose Ensemble events and auctions for years. Their support and friendship has made a huge impact financially, as well as making our events tastier with Paul's personal wine selections.
Garden of Eva, located at 1585 Marshall Avenue, has provided roses to The Rose Ensemble for the last several seasons - you've seen their products on artist, staff, and volunteer boutineers and in beautiful arrangements on display.
When you're next shopping in their neighborhood, please stop in to say hello and thank them for their support...and perhaps to shop for your wine, beer, and floral needs.
On our way to $50,000 by December 31, but we still need your help
Thanks to everyone who participated in Give to the Max Day. We raised $9858, a slight increase over last year’s total. Between Give to the Max Day and early donations for our fall fundraising campaign, we raised $14,672 in November! That means we’ve already reached nearly 30% of our goal to raise $50,000 by December 31. Thank you for supporting our music and mission.
It’s our turn to show our appreciation. The 2012-2013 donor benefits are now available online and you may have already noticed invitations to new events including our open house, open rehearsal, the Voces8 Hell’s Kitchen event and other Rose community activities.
If you're not already a donor, or are considering moving up to the next donor level, now is a great time to do so. The Katherine B. Andersen Fund of the Saint Paul Foundation will match your first gift to The Rose Ensemble, or for current donors, any increase in your gift from your 2011 donation.
2012-2013 Donor Benefits
Check out our donor benefits below. Contact Sarah Curtis with any questions about your current level or associated benefits. Your donor level for the 2012-2013 Season is based on your total donations between 9/9/2011and the current date. You may upgrade to the next donor level at any time. You can immediately enjoy the benefits associated with that level for the remainder of this season and will remain at that level for the 2013-2014 season.

Thank you for your feedback!
We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our recent survey about philanthropic giving and preferences. Your honest, articulate feedback is extremely valuable to us. We’re already using your responses to help shape new activities and communications that we hope will make your experience as Rose Ensemble donors, members, and concert-goers even better.
What did we learn?
-
You value the music, the artistry, and the historical context of our work. We hear you and will continue to strive to provide the highest quality performance and education programs possible.
-
Overwhelmingly, you prefer email communication. We’re enhancing our communication plan to provide you with more, and more robust email communications. The e-newsletter you just received is only the first of its kind. If you didn’t receive the e-newsletter, sign up for our mailing list today.
-
You’re philanthropic. Every respondent supports nonprofit organizations, with performing arts, education, health and human services and religious organizations leading the list of causes you support. Thank you for your commitment to all the nonprofits you support.
-
Not a surprise, but “Rosies” are highly educated. More than 70% of you have advanced degrees and another 45% have bachelor’s degrees. Pretty amazing! No wonder you shared such strong feedback about the value of our pre-concert lectures, program notes, historical context, and research. We’ll continue to provide these educational vehicles.
-
You expressed interest in a wide range of giving options and donor benefits. Thank you for sharing your ideas, comments and feedback. We heard you and are actively working toward making your donor experience even better. We’re currently solidifying our development activities for 2013, including enhancing our donor levels and adding new benefits. We’ll do our best to provide a variety of appealing activities, communications, events, targeted fundraising drives, and perks. Here’s a sample of what we heard from you:
-
Some of you have interest supporting specific projects, with research, artist compensation and education programs leading your list. We heard and plan to pilot one or two specific project fundraisers this year.
-
You also expressed interest in more communications about your gift at work. Please watch for more stewardship content in our e-newsletters and on Facebook and Twitter.
-
Some respondents expressed interest in more donor benefits. In this area, tickets to share with friends, discounts, invitations to open rehearsals, exclusive events and workshops, and reserved seating all received moderate response. We’ll be trying some new activities this Season; please do join in the fun and share your feedback and suggestions on the experiences.
-
Overall, you find your experience with The Rose Ensemble to be worthwhile or extremely worthwhile. Thank you. We are literally glowing from reading your thoughtful, personal responses about why we’re important to you and your commitment to helping us grow and thrive. It means so much us. We can’t tell you enough how much we value each and every one of you!
